We’re still in the Valentine’s Day spirit, so we thought we would do one more Valentine’s-related STEAM Saturday. Today, you and your child will be making heart mazes! This is a great activity to help them practice fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and more!
For this project, you’ll need yarn, glue (a hot glue gun works best), paper, cardboard – think an empty cereal box, a pencil, and a marble or small ball. First, draw out the heart maze shape on your piece of paper – the link below has a template to work from. Then, you’ll glue your paper down to the cardboard. Next, glue the yarn overtop of your pencil maze and let it dry. Finally, place your marble or ball at the entrance to the maze, and try to navigate it to the center.
