Happy New Year to you and your families! We are very excited about the year ahead, but first, let’s take some time to celebrate! We have found some fun and easy STEAM activities that you can do at home with your children!
The first activity, from the amazing site littlbinsforlittlehands.com, is the Build A Tower Challenge!
Challenge your child to build a tower to hold a “New Year’s Countdown Ball” using only 20 pieces of uncooked spaghetti and string and/or tape. The goal is to make the tower as tall as possible, and still be able to support one large marshmallow. You can allow them to have as much time as they want, or make it even more challenging by giving them a time limit. This is a great project for encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving!
Our second New Year’s STEAM project is also from littlebinsforlittlehands.com, and is called Confetti Eruptions!
This is a fun activity you can do with baking soda, vinegar, water, and confetti (or glitter, if you’re feeling adventurous).

Have fun learning together!
We’ll see you right back here next Saturday for another STEAM Saturday activity! Scroll through the rest of our website to learn how Critchlow Adkins is Building Brighter Futures for the children and families we serve!
