An August STEAM project YOU can do at home!
With the end of summer and the beginning of a school year, there is a lot to celebrate. It’s time for a party, and we’ve got a great party idea inspired by our Easton School Age Site!
While our other sites were hosting end of summer carnivals, they decided to shake things up and throw a Glow Party for their campers. You and your child can put on your own Glow Party at home!
Glow-in-the-dark tape and glow sticks make a simple, fun game of tic-tac-toe. Glow sticks or necklaces also make a perfect ring for a homemade ring toss, made with items you can find around your house.
Set up a family engineering challenge using glow-in-the-dark Slinkys. With supplies from around the house, have a competition to build ramps for the Slinkys to slide down. See whose Slinky reaches the bottom first!  Switch things up by trying different angles, shapes, etc. to see if you can make the Slinkys faster.
You can also make glow-in-the-dark slime together using a simple recipe from Elmer’s Glue! All you need is Elmer’s Glow-In-The-Dark Glue, baking soda, and contact lens solution.  For the full recipe from Elmer’s, click HERE. |
There are many other activities you and your child can do together to make your Glow Party fun and educational. As always, get as creative as you want, and above all else, have lots of fun learning together! |
