Lots of our STEAM projects center around science and engineering, but there are five disciplines represented under the umbrella of STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Today, we’re going to combine Arts and Technology and challenge your child’s critical thinking skills during this perfect indoor/outdoor summer STEAM activity!
This photo scavenger hunt is pretty awesome solo, but it also could make a perfect activity for a play date!
Let your child borrow your phone and use your camera. Print out the scavenger hunt list below and challenge your future photographer to find and snap a picture of objects to match each item on the list. Some of the items are more simple, such as finding an object that is a certain color, but some will take some thought and effort, like “something that is smaller than a mouse.”
Your child will have a blast looking at his or her world from a new perspective, and learning how to use a camera, and you’ll have an awesome photo album keepsake at the end of the activity. Happy hunting!

As always, get as creative as you want, and above all, have lots of fun learning together!
We’ll see you right back here next Saturday for another STEAM Saturday activity! Scroll through the rest of our website to learn how Critchlow Adkins is Building Brighter Futures for the children and families we serve!
